The W2C Advantage
You may have found other websites that compare rates and plans for free. Why does Watt2Choose charge a fee?
We are paid by you because we work for you. Most of the sites that offer “free” comparisons are paid by the REPs. That’s right: they only show you rates from the companies that pay them a commission. If a provider is not a “partner” of theirs, they are not included in the comparison even if they are less expensive.
Watt2Choose is a truly objective service. We are not affiliated with any company or REP. We will compute and compare your estimated electricity charges using ALL plans available in your area (more than 100 different plans offered by about 25 companies for any given address).
Rate and plan comparisons can become very confusing. A side-by-side comparison of base rates only simply cannot give you a realistic picture of your situation.
For example, some of the REP’s rates work on a sliding scale: the rate for 2000 KWh is less than for 500, 1000 and 1500 KWh. Often, the 2000 KWh rate is used in the generic comparative tables and you (the customer) do not know this unless you look very carefully through all the contract terms. The comparisons you get with Watt2Choose apply the appropriate rates to your power usage.
Additionally, many electric plans have a variable fee built in that kicks in if your usage in a given month is less than 1,000 KWh. With sites that only offer side-by-side comparisons of base rates, it may appear that one company is less expensive when in fact your total bill with that company may actually be higher. Watt2Choose includes any variable fees in your price comparison so you get a clear and accurate picture of what you’ll be paying.
Watt2Choose uses a proprietary usage model to compare your usage against all of the available plans. Actual usage comparison is the only way to get a clear view of your choices. So while Watt2Choose charges a nominal fee for our comparisons, most of our customers recoup that cost in just one month.
Watt2Choose: clear, specific, customized, objective. Couldn’t be simpler!
